Why Not?

Nuclear Energy is a proven alternative to fossil fuels, but for reasons i was not able to find we are not using this energy source to its fullest. Nuclear Energy can produce much more energy then the fossil fuels we are using. Plus, this technology can assist in reducing toxins in our air, thus causing an overall reduction in global warming! So Why Not use Nuclear Energy?
